Trip Insurance

The Club is pleased to announce the Trip Insurance program for the 2008-2009 Ski Season. The plan protects against losses from sickness, injury, strikes, bankruptcy and many other unexpected events. In a changing world more people are concerned about the uncertainties of travel and want this protection.

The plan, offered by the Travelex Insurance Services, has great benefits and reasonable rates. A brochure describing the coverage, benefits, claim procedures and rates can be accessed at the link below. You can purchase the coverage on line or by phone. In order to cover pre-existing conditions you must do so with-in 21 days of the date of your trip bill (see brochure for details). You can purchase later and get all the great benefits except pre-existing conditions.

Some items to remember when purchasing the coverage:

1. You need only insure the basic cost of your trip, not including lift tickets or other extras.
2. Kids are free up to age 16 when parents are covered.
3. Most of our travelers will not need the 32-180 day coverage, the rental vehicle coverage, the medical upgrade or the optional flight coverage. Just buy the basic plan.
4. Rates vary with the age of the traveler so have this information available when filling out the form.
5. Remember, you must purchase the insurance within 21 days of your trip invoice date in order to have pre-existing conditions covered. See brochure for details.

Claims also will be filed direct with the insurance company and directions for doing so are in the brochure and on the website.  Bowen Travel will assist in filing claims if necessary.
