WINTER PARK SKI AREA has high elevation for great powder snow in all conditions! In the past ten years, Winter Park has had the highest snowfall of all the Colorado resorts. The three peaks that make up the ski area, Winter Park, Mary Jane and Vasquez Ridge, provide an enormous diversity of terrain. There are 2886 acres and trails five miles long to ski. Gentle runs for beginners, wide cruisers for intermediates and thrilling chutes and bumps for the advanced skiers, Winter Park has them all. Intermediate skiers can try the Parsenn Bowl and tree skiing on the lower slopes.
Mary Jane®
No Pain, No Jane.™ That's our motto. And after you feel the impact of The Jane's relentless long mogul runs, it'll be yours, too. Cruising at an altitude of 11,000 feet, here you may encounter a bit of turbulence. People come to Mary Jane when they want to feel a bit guilty for enjoying themselves too much. This beautiful, bumpy mountain was voted #1 in North America for bump skiing. So if you're needing a push, wanting a challenge, or maybe just feeling you've been naughty, try a run down Mary Jane.
There is a separate learning area for children with a "Magic Carpet" lift for the little ones. The modern lift system has over 20 lifts, including 7 high-speed quads. Adult and children's ski schools are both very "user friendly". Ski at Winter Park and watch your technique improve! Friendly courteous service to all skiers on the mountain is a Winter Park trademark.
Winter Park Resort features:
2886 Skiable Acres with 1700 ft. Vertical Drop, 143 trails with 8% Beginner, 17% Intermediate, 19% Advanced, 53% Most Difficult and 3% Expert Only
Base Elevation of 9000 feet, with Top Elevation of 10,700 feet
The Village is a bustling, highly interactive locale with pedestrian-only brick and cobblestone main streets featuring shops, studios and galleries. It's a place where locals feel at home and where visitors feel like locals. The towns of Winter Park and neighboring Fraser rest in a beautiful mountain valley just two miles from the mountain. Despite being slightly smaller and more subdued than other resort towns, they still offer many dining and nightlife options. A must in Fraser is a rustic local establishment called Crooked Creek Saloon, while great dining options in Winter Park include The Shed, Wildcreek and Gasthaus Eichler Restaurant. For alternatives to skiing, there is a great tubing hill and a fun go-cart style snowmobiling park, among other things.
Want to learn to board or ski or just learn to ski better? If so, The Tampa Bay Ski Club and the Winter Park Ski and Ride School have a deal for YOU!! We are offering an unbelievable price on lessons, $69 for a full day of lessons, and we will throw in a free lunch! The best deal is for three days at $199! This is program is particularly good for “Never Evers” (our term for true beginners). Most new skiers and boarders need at least three days to get the hang of skiing or boarding.
You may take as many days of lessons as you like. Our lift tickets are only $45 per day and we will have a low group price for rental equipment as well. You can reserve your space and purchase your lift tickets when you pay the balance due for your trip.
The Town of Winter Park is down to earth and prices are reasonable. The town is just a short bus ride away. There are lots of stores, restaurants and entertainment. This is skiing without the glitz and glitter of the pricier resorts. The nicest thing about Winter Park is the friendly people! Most activities are family oriented and easy to find. Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sleigh rides and the famous snow-tubing hill will provide lots of apres-ski action. A car is not necessary as all the sites can be reached via the free bus system.
Helen Newcombe, your trip leader, will plan social events, help with lift tickets and rental equipment and handle many of the other bothersome details. You can relax and enjoy the trip. Spaces won't last long at these prices, so don't be left out, send in your deposit today!
(There are no dues to pay on Tampa Bay Ski Club trips and no extra charge for using your credit card!)
